Kathmandu, March 12: Nepal has secured the status of one-day nation by winning against UAE in the match under ICC World Cup League 2. Nepal has succeeded in securing one-day international recognition by defeating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the ongoing series under the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League-2. Nepal has maintained the ODI status by defeating UAE by 177 runs in their second match at home.

With this win, Nepal has secured the ODI status for four more years. Nepal got ODI recognition in cricket for the first time in 2018. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has a provision to give ODI recognition to the nation that remains in the top five positions in the league. With today’s win, Nepal has moved up to the fourth place in the seven-nation League-2.

Nepal now has two games left to play. In today’s match, UAE batsmen proved to be innocent in the face of Nepal’s deadly bowling. As Nepal set a target of 249 runs for victory, UAE’s innings was destroyed in just 71 runs. Nepal won the toss and decided to bat first at the Tribhuvan University cricket ground in Kirtipur today. Nepal scored 248 runs losing all wickets in 49.2 overs in the scheduled 50 overs match.
