Development partners, donor agencies submit details on reconstruction in NRA


Kathmandu, April 16: The representatives of different development partners and donor agencies have submitted the details in the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) that are being carried out by their nations, missions and development agencies in the post earthquake reconstruction efforts of Nepal.
In the 7th meeting of the development assistance coordination and facilitation committee of the NRA held Monday, the representatives of the development partners expressed the confidence that the reconstruction works would be expedited in the changed organizational structure of the Authority.


The 12th directorate committee meeting of the NRA held under the chair of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on April 12 had decided to bring the central level and district level project implementation units under the NRA by endorsing the new organizational structure of the NRA.
During the meeting, Ambassador of Germany to Nepal Roland Schafer informed the meeting about the assistance ongoing in the reconstruction efforts and presented the details of supports in health, educational institutions, reinstatement of the drinking water supplies and other technical assistances.
Likewise, the representatives of embassies of India, China and Switzerland in Nepal also shared their efforts taken in the reconstruction of the quake damaged properties.
During the meeting, representatives of USAID, DEFID, JICA, EU, World Bank Group, ADB, UNDP and different other agencies involved in the reconstruction efforts also shared about the progress on their activities and financial mobilization.
Speaking at the meeting, CEO of NRA Yubraj Bhusal said that the Authority has directly reached to the local level for the reconstruction since different district-level structures were dissolved.(RSS)
