March, 3 Bhairahawa. Landmark Hotel and Resort, which has been operating hotels in Nepal’s tourism sector for 32 years, has launched a new hotel in Bhairahawa. Although it has been in operation since a month ago as a soft launch, the grand opening of the hotel took place on Saturday. Home Minister of Lumbini State Santosh Pandey inaugurated the event.

A four-star hotel landmark Bhairahawa has been built in Singapore Colony in Siddharthnagar Municipality Ward No. 3, which is only three kilometers away from Belhia Gate, the main gateway for Indian tourists to enter Nepal. Currently, 100 people have got full time employment in the initial phase. The construction of the hotel has been completed after five years.

Chief Executive Officer Pandey said in the press conference after the inauguration that the hotel is being developed as a wedding destination for Indians. He said that now Indian citizens can spend up to 5000 dollars per person in Nepal, as there is a provision in Indian law, since four members of the same family can spend up to 20000 dollars, there is a possibility that wedding parties can be conducted.

Pandey said that he wants to create jobs for Nepalese youth by operating a new hotel even during this economic recession. He said that four sons of his family have studied abroad and returned to their country and are working in the tourism sector. Pandey informed that a feasibility study is being done to open a hotel in Bardia, Lebuvaghat in Chitwan and other places in the near future.

The hotel has been designed so that sunlight penetrates all the rooms and toilets of the landmark. The hotel has a sky bar with a capacity of 100 people. Pandey said that till five years ago, Nepal’s tourism sector meant that foreigners should stay and they should eat, but gradually the promotion of domestic tourism is ending such a view.

Pandey said that Landmark will promote Raithane Foods, promoting and promoting missing Nepali food. He said that the tourism sector, which has become the most affected due to Covid, is gradually rising. He said that when the world recognized that business should be done along with the Covid, it became easier in Nepal as well.

Om Prakash Pandey, the Managing Director of Landmark Hotel, said that during the economic recession, the situation becomes even more empty when there is no work. He said that even in the midst of despair, they have taken such a risk because it is the work of the private sector to spread the ray of hope.

Managing Director Pandey said that the Gautam Buddha International Airport built in Bhairahawa is not fully operational immediately but will be operational in the future and it will be a milestone in the tourism sector. Presenting the fact that 80 percent of Indian tourists enter Nepal through Belhia Pass, he said that the landmark is the first choice for such tourists.

Initially, the hotel has started service with 50 rooms as deluxe, super deluxe, family and junior suite. The hotel management has also provided transport facilities for the guests coming to the hotel to and from Bhairahawa airport and Belhia crossing. River view can be seen from some rooms of the hotel.

The hotel has been built so that the first rays of sunrise reach the bed in some rooms. The hotel also has a courtyard lounge, swimming pool, rooftop bar. Chief Executive Officer Pandey said that he believes that the landmark Bhairahawa World Heritage Site will become a major destination for tourists visiting Lumbini, events for business growth, social gatherings, weddings, etc.

Pandey said that Landmark will never compromise on the quality of service and the sole aim is to provide excellent service to the guests. He said that landmark Bhairahawa, Chitwan, Kathmandu and Pokhara are committed to satisfy the interest of tourists at any time and appealed to them to share their experience by availing services at landmark Bhairahawa.
