Chinese security officials agree to report container accident to Nepal Police


Rasuwa, April 21: Chinese security authorities would report vehicular accident to the Nepali authorities in the border area if any containers met with accident in Chinese territory.
Chinese security officials agreed to report such accidents to Rasuwa Police if such took place on the way to Kerung from Rauwagadhi border checkpoint and vice-versa.
Chief District Officer of Rasuwa Chomendra Neupane shared that the Chinese security officials would report such accidents with details for insurance purpose.

The assurance had come at a two-day discussion ‘Problems in Border Areas and Resolving Measures’, organized by Lhasa-based Consulate General Office in Kerung on Friday.
Consulate General Govinda Bahadur Karki was also present on the occasion. Also present were representatives of various stakeholders including security offices of Rasuwa and Kerung.
It was also shared that the Chinese officials had consented to release the carriers laden with apple and garlic to Nepal from Chinese checkpoint and allow all vehicles reaching Rasuwagadhi to move to Kerung due to limited parking space at Rasuwagadhi area on same day.
Earlier, only 60 vehicles were bound to Kerung from Rasuwagadhi border area every day.
Likewise, CDO Neupane said that he had put forth a proposal to grant one-day pass and business pass to every Nepali and export of Nepali agro and meat items to China while reviewing the 2012 agreement that only allows local people to enter Kerung. (RSS)
