Jhapa, April 14 : Two persons died in separate road accidents in Jhapa district this evening. A cyclist died after a bus hit his cycle in Birtamod section of East-West Highway.
Prem Rai, 35, of Birtamod-1 died after a bus (Me 1 Kha 1371) bound to east hit the cycle while cyclist Rai was cycling to cross the road. Rai breathed his last at B&C Hospital in Birtamod, Police Inspector Rajesh Rai said.


Meanwhile, a pedestrian was killed while crossing the road in Surunga of Kankai Municipality in the East-West Highway.
The bus (Ba 3 Kha 2188) knocked the woman down, injuring her seriously. The Traffic Police said that the woman died on her way to the hospital. Identity of the women is not ascertained yet.(RSS)
